What argument is not....

As we transition into argumentative writing, it is important to realize what argument is not.
Argumentative writing is persuasive and utilizes ethos, pathos, and logos to convince the reader to adopt your opinion.

  • Argumentative writing does not make a loud demand for others to change their mind.
  • Argumentative writing should avoid logical fallacies.
  • Argumentative writing should acknowledge counterclaims.
  • Argumentative writing should bring in outside information and experiences to convince the reader.
